Dr. Amanda Lewis-Yarbrough, a passionate mental health advocate and licensed psychologist, is dedicated to transforming lives. As one of Alabama’s few African-American female psychologists, she challenges mental health stigmas, particularly among veterans and women of color. Founder of Avondale and Associates Psychological Services, LLC, Dr. Lewis-Yarbrough addresses the community’s mental health needs, offering a safe, affordable platform to find balance and peace. Her cognitive behavioral approach promotes self-awareness and emotional intelligence, fostering healthy emotional well-being. With expertise in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, and more, she earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. Dr. Lewis-Yarbrough’s impactful career extends to her role with the Veterans Administration and as a provider for Auburn University’s Accountability Based Sexual Offense Program. Beyond her clinical work, she co-founded “I Am Purposed,” a nonprofit empowering veteran women and women of color and she’s involved in numerous charitable initiatives.
